Orange & Poppy Seed Loaf

This Orange & Poppy Seed Loaf will become a family favourite in your house in no time.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Electric hand mixer
  • Loaf tin

Ingredients

  • 125 g Unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 200 g Caster sugar
  • 225 g Self raising flour
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp Orange zest
  • ¼ cup Orange juice
  • ¼ cup Poppy seeds

cream cheese frosting

  • 250 g Cream cheese (softened)
  • ¼ cup Orange juice
  • 3 tbsp Icing sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 180°. Cream the butter in a bowl with a electric hand mixer. Once butter is pale and creamy add the eggs. Wisk until combined.
  • Add the remainder of the ingridients and wisk until combined. Place into a greased tray. Cook for 45 minutes, or until a skewer comes out clean.

Cream cheese frosting

  • Beat the softened cream cheese for 3-4 minutes, once fluffy add the orange juice and icing sugar. beat until combined.
